On August 18, 2025, Kaijin New Energy and Lishi Group, the parent company of Nippon Paint China, signed a solid-state battery cooperation agreement in Dongguan, Guangdong. Dr. Zhou, CTO of Kaijin New Energy, and Dr. Hong, CTO of Lishi Group, attended the meeting. The agreement aims to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between both parties in the field of solid-state battery research, bringing new opportunities and development space for technological innovation in solid-state batteries.
Solid state batteries use solid electrolytes instead of traditional liquid electrolytes, which have disruptive advantages in terms of safety and energy density. By 2030, the global penetration rate of solid-state (including semi-solid) batteries is expected to reach 9%. From 2024 to 2030, the CAGR of global solid-state battery demand growth is 98%, corresponding to a CAGR of 111% for negative electrode demand growth.
